Workshops

Workshops introduce educators to the AppLe a Day framework and guide participants in designing brief, structured learning experiences that sustain student readiness during instructional gaps. Through examples and hands-on design activities, participants explore how retrieval, confidence calibration, and low-friction engagement can be integrated into daily learning encounters.

Designing Continuity-Oriented Learning Experiences

The AppLe a Day Initiative offers workshops designed to help educators translate the framework into practical learning experiences. These sessions introduce the core design principles and guide participants in building structured daily activities that support retrieval, confidence calibration, and sustained engagement.

Workshops emphasize hands-on design, allowing participants to construct their own activity architecture using adaptable templates.

What Participants Will Learn

Participants will explore how to:

  • Design brief daily learning encounters that support readiness between instructional periods

  • Incorporate retrieval before reinforcement to strengthen access to foundational ideas

  • Embed confidence calibration and feedback to support metacognitive awareness

  • Create structured choice pathways that balance autonomy with coherence

  • Implement low-friction delivery using familiar digital tools

Workshop Format & Resources

Workshops typically include:

  • An introduction to the AppLe framework

  • Examples drawn from the KiSS Program implementation

  • Guided design activities

  • Opportunities to build a prototype activity for participants’ own context

Workshop participants receive access to:

  • Activity design templates

  • Example implementation architectures

  • Guidance for adapting the framework across subjects and grade levels

Sessions can be adapted for conferences, professional development events, or institutional workshops.
